𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘵, 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘵, 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵 (Critical Reception) was a performative event consisting of a private farewell party as well as a public debate moment co-organized in collaboration with 𝒜𝒜𝒜𝒜 and artist Kamilla Mez.

The event problematized issues of – 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 – specific to the region of Northern Jutland where artists are moving out of the city to find better education and work possibilities, not to return.

The event asks how does that effect the local art scene? What causes this migration? and how can the city deal with this?

In the 𝒜𝒜𝒜𝒜 samtalesalon: “How do we solve the artistic migration? that was part of the event program a critical conversation around this topic was initiated, to actively engage the voices of people involved.

For a local perspective on artistic migration read the articles Talentfulde unge forlader byen: Har svært ved at få øje på Aalborg som kunstby, and Kunstner forlader Aalborg med opsang: Lav en kunstuddannelse, der kan holde på os from Nordjyske.

The project was kindly supported by KulturKANten, Aalborg Kommunes Kunstfond, and made possible with the generosity of Huset i Hasserisgade, Lille Nyhavn, and SuperPonyHest.
